We recorded Live in California during the 1999 Vinnie Moore/Michael Schenker Group Tour. Two shows were recorded at The Edge in Palo Alto, and the best takes were chosen from the two nights. The shows were the fourth and fifth of the tour, so the freshness and spontaneity were still kickin'. I ended up choosing an equal amount of songs from each night.

Sometimes when I am on tour, I will also do guitar clinics earlier in the day. In this case, it was a little untimely that I had a clinic scheduled on the first night of recording for this CD because I was unable to do a soundcheck. After doing the clinic, I drove directly to the gig, warmed up with my guitar for a few minutes on the tour bus, and then went right on stage. I had never been inside this venue before and had no idea what it was like. TOTALLY STRESSFUL! In the end, everything worked out great.
